The Designers

Award-winning design practices Lim + Lu and CL3 Architects present Le Club - offering a space for relaxation, connection, and creative exchange — a true embodiment of Hong Kong’s design energy and cultural ingenuity.

Le Club reinterprets a humble yet iconic object — the plaster stool — found throughout the city’s cha chaan tengs (茶餐廳), wet markets, and street stalls. Thousands of stools are stacked to form a permeable wall system, defining the lounge’s perimeter. The resulting lattice offers both privacy and porosity — creating a sense of enclosure while maintaining visual connection.

Furniture throughout Le Club is a thoughtful curation of bespoke pieces by Lim + Lu and CL3, alongside vintage and borrowed items. Among them, the Trolley Cart Sofa stands out — a playful reinterpretation of the push carts ubiquitous across Hong Kong’s streets. Meanwhile, circular partitions inspired by restaurant table tops create flexible, semi-private pockets that echo the city’s adaptable spirit.

CL3 Architects

As Founder and Managing Director of CL3 Architects Ltd. (CL3), William Lim brings over 30 years of experience to his projects. An acclaimed architect and artist, William graduated from Cornell University and has spent the past three decades at the forefront of architecture, culture and art.

Since founding CL3 in 1992, William has established a notable presence on the global design scene. The studio’s diverse, award-winning portfolio includes H Queen’s Hong Kong, Gaysorn Amarin Bangkok, Marina Bay Sands Singapore (interior), Raffles City Chongqing (interior).

Lim + Lu

Lim + Lu is an award-winning, interdisciplinary design studio founded in New York and now based in Hong Kong. The practice works across architecture, interiors, furniture, and product design, delivering projects that transform everyday elements into refined, flexible systems balancing practicality and surprise.

Their signature lies in cohesion across scales: furniture, lighting, materials, and spatial logic all evolve from a unified conceptual DNA. Bold without theatrics, Lim + Lu’s spaces aspire to timelessness—designs that evolve with life rather than date by it.
